Free public lectures this month

Nuclear is for life, a cultural revolution
Professor Wade Allison, Oxford Physics
Fri 11th December 2015, 4.30-5.30pm

The lecture will discuss how there is no reason why nuclear energy should not be the ideal source of carbon-free energy. More information and booking can be found here: http://www2.physics.ox.ac.uk/events/2015/12/11/nuclear-is-for-life-a-cultural-revolution-by-prof-wade-allison-public-lecture.

Christmas lecture: The light fantastic – a tour of the electromagnet spectrum
Dr Catherine Hayer, Oxford Physics
Tue 15th December 2015, 6.15-7.15pm (suitable for children)

Scientists use satellites to measure light to observe the Earth and the way it is changing around us. This demonstration lecture will explore these methods, as well as the properties of light itself, in a whistle stop tour of the spectrum. Dear Y13 (both classes)
Sorry I am not in today, daughter has bad earache.
We will postpone the practice capacitors EMPA until next week.
Please can you;
Find and do at least 5 questions on Electric potential including 1 written one inn the Practice in Physics books and do these (I will check these next lesson)
Do 20 questions on magnetic fields and forces on a conductor from Practice in Physics
I don't have a book on me but when I get hold of one later today I will add some suggested questions if you are stuck
Thanks and sorry
Enjoy the cake!
Ms H
