Find out and make notes on how a Van der Graaff generator works and what does the field around it look like when it is charged.
13e - why did the aluminium fly out of Jed's hands?  Explain using the idea of electric fields
13b - do the same as 13e even though you didn't actually see this (I will demo next term with someone other than Jed)

Questions from Practice in Physics Chapter 18, Q18.1- 20.32.  Some of these will require you to think back to unit 2 mechanics, and use your formula sheet wisely.  Numerical answers are in the back so check your answers.

Sorry I am away today - please can you;
Revise your understanding of gravitational potential and come up with two things you are not sure about to cover in Monday's lesson
Look at the attached muliple choice questions on the previous post and do as many of them as you can (but you may not be able to do the satellite ones yet)
Check that you understand the difference between the two types of orbit and the advantages of each
Write two of your own multiple choice questions to bring to Monday
